Little Bethel’s annual Boys’ Rites of Passage event, in association with MCBA, will be held on October 9, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The event is geared towards young males (ranging in age from 7 to 15), pairing them with attorney mentors for participation in a workshop on peer pressure, education, and career options.
This year’s theme is African heritage, with a goal of not only educating attendees on the topic in general, but also getting them to think about what the subject means specifically to their everyday lives. We have arranged for continental, professional Africans of diverse background to be guest speakers sharing their stories on migrating from Africa to America and the challenges they’ve faced since arriving to this country. There will be a luncheon catered by a local restaurant featuring authentic African cuisine.
Volunteers should respond to Ikedigbo Nnaemeka at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your commitment time for the day. We look forward to having a great turnout and a wonderful experience with some outstanding young men in the Indianapolis community. Hope to see you all there!!!!
